Sound not working on Raspberry PI

    Hi

    Im a complete beginner at this. Bought this raspberry PI secondhand with the BIOS already installed etc. Just now starting to download add-ons to watch documentaries/Movies but the sound does not work on any program.
    Any idea why ?

    What OS is running on it? (ie Wheezy or raspbmc etc) Are you trying to play audio thouggh HDMI or audio jack?
