Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So is that Jones and Giggs in CM?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,709 ✭✭✭shrewdness

Happy to see Nani, Kagawa and Hernandez start, not happy about that CM.

    lucas and gerrard again????

    FFS

EDIT: I know with allen out there are really no other options but still...would rather have seen one of them at least get benched.

Is that a CM of Giggs and Jones?

    Lol

Other than that a front four of Hernandez, Rooney, Nani and Kagawa is one of the best around. Pity Liverpool will probably just dominate in midfield and not allow them to play.

Ando and Cleverly must be off killing puppies somewhere.

If gerrard and lucas are as bad as they were saturday we could all witness the smelliest stale mate ever in midfield

Are you seriously moaning about your CM...

    HAVE YOU SEEN UNITED'S??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,139 ✭✭✭Red Crow

Why play Rooney? Moyes obviously not taking this as seriously as you'd expect.

All respect to Giggs, and all respect to Jones' funny faces

But that is one of the worst two man midfields to ever line out for United

Edit: it looks like a 4-5-1 with Moyes probably telling Kag and Nani to hug the touch lines as out and out wingers, and Rooney staying deep

Was just going to say, I think it'll be 4-5-1 with Moyes attempting to overrun Liverpool in midfield.

The midfield battle will make Timmy and Jimmy look like a Ali vs Fraiser classic.

Lol,did they just say on Sky Sports that Suarez is misunderstood?

Watch some of our best players (Nani/Kagawa/Hernandez) play poorly because of that joke of a central midfield, and get ignored for the next 2 months because of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,071 ✭✭✭Milkers

Game might hinge on whether Gerrard decides to show up or not. If he plays like he has recently it won't matter how bad United are in CM. If he has a good one he could really dominate that area.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 32,865 ✭✭✭✭MagicMarker

subs: Amos, Fabio, Anderson, Carrick, Zaha, Januzaj, Welbeck

Why is Fabio not starting at LB?

At least Adnan & Zaha are on the bench.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,364 ✭✭✭✭Kylo Ren

Januzaj should be on instead of Rooney, and Anderson in for Giggs.

Liverpool picking their best available players for this one. We're not. Shows the difference in attitude towards the smaller cups. The Capital One would be a good achievement for Rogers this year. Success in the cups is something to build on and as this one only runs into the new year it's not too much of a distraction from the league.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Pretty much exactly how I thought Liverpool would line out, for better or worse.

Can't believe Giggs is starting CM, even if Gerrard and Lucas will tank after half time.

Well ye actually have a squad. Liverpool, unfortunately right now, do not. Rodgers doesn't have a choice but play this team really, in my eyes.

Liverpool have 2 things they can win, this is one of them, and no European football means no excuse for not taking this fully seriously. Liverpool have a reasonable chance with that utd lineup, but Utd still favs at home imo.

It shows the differences in squad depth.

If Rodgers had a bench like United, he would make changes.

    Haha good one about Rodgers,
When did Moyes ever win anything? Never.
So i think The Capital One would be a great achievement for Moyes.
    And i'm calling it now,
Moyes won't be in with a chance of winning the League or Champions league this season.

Really. I will be amazed if that United team manages to beat that Liverpool team.
