Netgear router randomly rebooting

Not sure if this is the right section or not. I have a netgear DGN 2000 and recently it started randomly rebooting itself 1-2 times a day. The only change I can think of is I have PC that FTPs weather data from my weather station to a website every five minutes. Would something like that cause this or do you think the…

Would something like that cause this or do you think the router is on the way out?
The other thing I've noticed is that the router seems to be very hot. It's placed in a well ventilated spot though. Not sure if has always run this hot though as I've never had the need to check.

Any help appreciated.
