As above, looking for 16 gb or 32. Best ive seen is 32 euro for 16 gb which seems pricey to me. Not worried about brand or class.

That seems very pricey. I've been shopping around for a 32GB card, and I've seen one for €35 in Harvey Norman, and €30 in Soundstore. That's the best I've seen thus far in the "bricks and mortar" store.

I've certainly seen cheaper online, but there it gets murkier. Some of the cheapest ones on Amazon and eBay are almost certainly not "merely" counterfeits of their purported brand and likely questionable in terms of speed and reliability, but what's worse have faked capacities. They initially "read" as the advertised capacities, but when you try to use more than a certain amount, it's literally just disappearing into thin air.

If anyone has worked out which online vendors are credibly cheap, as opposed to flat-out fakers, I'd be very interested in finding out...

Amazon is probably a safer bet than ebay, at least if one sticks to Amazon proper. Some of the third-party sellers there seem to have the same dodgy undersized issue, according to some of the reviews and comments.

To an extent, but if one pays too much of a premium for a card that's overspecced for one's current device, you may find that in said future, you find they're now higher cap, faster, and cheaper.

That's listed as £17.01 on Amazon! That's a pretty decent discount, especially as they'd want to sting you for another fiver if you were ordering just that. Then entrusting it to the tender mercies of An Post, who have been known just to wedge stuff one-third in my letterbox and swan off, leaving it begging to be nicked. (Or just take it out for a nice trip around the district, then straight back to the delivery office.) Will definitely have to check those out next time...
