Double glazing savings

Can anyone point me to information on the likely energy savings from upgrading my single glazed timber windows to more energy efficient say PVC double glazing?

Is this likely to be justified on cost grounds?

Are there ways of fitting DG units to my existing windows?

    Any help would be appreciated!

the savings are calculable - but the comfort factor more so - double glazing typical removes drafts

given this then fitting dg units to your existing frames probably does not make sense

Thanks for the comment, I know what you say is correct, but I would like to have some idea of the savings on installing new windows (or putting DG into the existing frames with draughtproofing) to weigh against the cost.
