Love running the Zunnis with the AA. You can have 23 rockets If you just fire one off and reload, the same with every vehicle.

I do love using the AA to mow down soldiers.

Always find it funny though when I'm in a tank and the AA has a go.. May as well be throwing stones at the tank.

If the AA has the 30mm and the driver is clever he won't engage the tank directly but wait until your about to get stuck into another tank / otherwise engaged.

Then all of a sudden that 30% health or so you lose from a full burst from the 30mm becomes a big old issue (assuming they also haven't got Zunnis on)

What you described is what I do.

Thankfully when I'm in a tank 90% of AA drivers seem to think they can take one head on cos it has armour..

I'm same, I use the 30mm on the AA to support my team armor and vehicles something fierce and it does make a difference.

I've done alot higher in the AA it's like shooting fish in a barrel :)

Now 43-0 as infantry thats serious going.

Though any MVP round is a good one, I only get MVP like 1 in every 10 games.

I'm no trying to put you down but if you were up as far as C/D and lasted 10 mins in a light armored vehicle then the other team were obviously a bit kack to say the least.

I've 100 AA stars and I wouldn't last that long in the AA up in the mix of it against semi decent / coordinated team.

Well done, purple heart in the post. A little bit or aarrogance is very charming

Care to share your battlelog? Not that I don't believe ya, just interested in seeing how many kills it takes to get in the top 20.
I've a total of 0 AA kills, I just play rush.

Just short of 9,000 kills for top 20.

I used to play rush alot during BFBC2 but never felt BF3 or BF4 maps were suited to rush modes really.

When you say Global, that's just Global for that platform you play on. Just so you know...

You do know you can actually see the leaderboards for every platform right ? For example a combined leaderboard for global AA and their platforms.

    3. 25,766 - PC
    4. 22,494 - PC

Christ I hate this ****ing game. I can hop into any other BF game and after a few minutes can have fun, but this utter trash just infuriates me like no other game ever has. Why the **** do I keep reinstalling it? :(

It just isn't fun. I find the maps to be terrible with just random players popping up all over the place with no flow to the maps. Trying to PTFO just results in frustration since nobody else seems to bother. I went back to try classic mode; It still feels like I die from a OHK all the time while I have to land a couple of head shots or emply most of a mag into anyone to kill them. Vehicles are utterly disposable, no matter how my tank is orientated people seem to always immobilise me in a single shell, yet my shells and RPG seem to do **** all damage even if I hit them orthogonaly from behind.

The frustration this causes is like nothing I've ever endured from a game, BF3 had its frustrations but it was still fun. Also the art style and colour pallet are incredibly ugly, this doesn't help.

just a quick question, but are you playing in a full squad? as in people you know?

5 people who stick together and work to hold an objective are the most powerful weapon on the battlefield. Even when they're only messing around. TBH I think that despite its shaky start, the game is great fun now.

Its hard to find full squads even of motivated randomers, most of the boardsies here that I used to play with stopped playing a long time ago. I've been trying to find some team play focused servers too.

However the game isn't currently team play friendly so I'll just uninstall it for good this time, I've many other games to play.

Well I find it fun ...

If you get a Co ordonated squad together you are almost always going to dominate every loan wolf ****e bag

Sounds like youre rusty and are getting your ass kicked.

Same thing happened me when I started playing it for the first time on Ps4 a month ago. But I stuck with it and I don't get nearly as frustrated now as I'm kicking ass.

I play rush with randomers all the time and its great, a lot of people ptfo. Maybe try that mode instead of conquest

Quick question have you tried active armour/defense it stops all damage temporarily and is deployed like ir smoke ect all the cool kids are using it for armoured vehicles

BF4 is great. I find the architecture and landscape of the maps to be very well designed. The layouts, for the most part, flow quite well.

The key to enjoying this game is to play with a good platoon/squad. You wont get anywhere playing as a lone wolf unless you want to rack up some points against poor opposition on Locker or Metro.

In terms of vehicles, unless you dont have the upgrades unlocked you will only be immobilised with a good shot to the rear of a tank.

Usually if no one is online I jump in the scout heli and mess about, a very fun chopper to use once you get the hang of it.

That or spawn in as support throw down some c4 on the jeep and find an unaware AA or tank and give an ole tea bag to start a back and forth.Forget about trying to get randomers to work as a team unless. Battlefield is the only shooter I know where there is a tonne of stuff to do solo to have fun.

BF4 is good for what it is but it ain't no BF2 that's for sure which I suspect (harrrr) that's what alienated the oldies...

It's something of a viscous cycle. I don't settle into the game because I don't like the look and feel of it. A lot of the decisions DICE made for BF4 annoy me further frustrating things. Then I can jump back into BF3 or BC2 after a couple of years and have fun and a real impact on the match. Maybe I'll reinstall BF2 again.

A lot of these specialisations contribute to the annoyance. They've piled layer upon layer of complexity which add nothing but balancing issues. Health regen, vehicle auto repair, 50 attachments for each weapon, blurred boundaries between classes and the resulting redundancy of classes are similarly problematic.

From what I understand the consensus is that the maps are poor compared to previous games. Certainly they lead to more chaotic gameplay rather than the ebb and flow of combat on previous games where players are naturally directed to objectives. Rush in BF4 certainly isn't at a series high.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but the helicopters annoyed me too. One of the few times I actually had fun in them was on the CTE when they added a more realistic flight model. (I'm an Aerodynamicist so I expect at least something realistic)

I guess the simple fact of the matter is that BF4 simply isn't for me. As a long term Battlefield player this is a bitter pill to swallow. The Hardline alpha only reinforced this and I will be skipping it. Thanks for the replies and sorry for being such a miserable old fart.

I know where you're coming from...

I enjoyed BF4 for the most part and I haven't been playing the series as long as yourself but I can see how hard it is for you to see a franchise that you once loved changing. Sadly it's the state of the modern industry - to appeal to the masses you need health regen, auto repair and Pokemon skins for guns along with 127 attachments with 2,384 gadgets. The majority of people that bought BF4 upon release put it down a month after it launched and haven't played it since moving onto something else entirely. These are the casuals that wouldn't have even looked at the game initially if it resembled BF2 in mechanics as they'd consider it 'hardcore'.

Those games that are hardcore like, say, Red Orchestra (which you'd probably love btw) don't get the sales and are subsequently left with minor resources in contrast which leaves them a bit rough around the edges of sorts.

TL;DR version - If BF5 resembled BF2 it would sink such is today's industry.
