Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's what he gets for leaving out Sammon so far this season!

Its not been a bad start to the season from them. Bit strange

Really strange, they seem to have being doing grand. One of the longest serving managers in the country gone as well.

Madness. They're only 11th. Very strange decision.

Also seems strange that a defeat away to a decent Forrest team would seal his fate. Can only think they have someone lined up.

Strangely enough this may have worked against him. May have though we have given him time and havent seen much progress.

    Such a tough league though

Pulis was at the match today, it could get a lot worse for Derby.

i'm sure they'd hate to see Premier League football alright.

Think he had a lot of injuries to deal with, and no budget of any note, I think it's a shame he got the sack. It will be even more disappointing, if whoever comes in after him is given a big budget, for loans and new signings, when the window reopens next year.

Didn't they have a 10 year plan or something?

He got an age by Championship standards. Yes, limited budget and mess when he came in but they're on 11 points after 9 games. Should have got to the end of the season but this isn't the huge shock it is made out to be. Keep finishing and performing meh in that league and you're vulnerable. 33% win percentage.

Having watched parts of the 12 o clock championship games on Sky this season, Pulis will be an improvement.

Pullis hoofball , is about as dated as Jack Charlton - football has moved on , thankfully.

Clough gave stability to Derby, but not much more. Yes he worked off a small budget - Derby spent a good deal less than neighbours Forest - and had to promote the likes of Will Hughes from within the youth ranks. But in the 5 odd seasons he had at Pride Park, they never finished higher than 10th. Blackpool finished top six and won the Playoffs in 2010 on a far smaller budget than Derby. So it can be done. Clough just wasn't good enough to take them to the next level.

Just wondering if Johnny Metgod would fancy the job. Ex Ajax and a Forest player who is currently youth team coach at Derby. Ex-assistant manager Steve McClaren is the current favourite. Worked under Jim Smith in the 90s before he left for United. Personally think he'd be weary of taking another Championship job so soon after his disastrous period at Forest. His coaching methods don't seem suited to English Championship level.
