Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    just starting now.

    Bale on the bench.

if it's anything like the CDR Final last year it could be hard to watch.

Well he wouldn't be much of a commentator if he didn't at least mention that.

Very hard to say from the camera angle but that looked like Arbeola had a stamp back.

    'He's just fallen down there'

Huge gash shown on his leg

How bad are Real this season? They just can't get going.

Di Maria has stunk out most of the games I've seen him play this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

    Jesus!

Atleti should be out of sight. Great safe all the same.

"This is a proper derby game."

No, it isn't. Players diving and chasing the ref around waving imaginary cards doesn't make a great match.

They haven't gelled yet. They show glimpses but nothing really consistent yet. Even against Gala they were only going in spits and spurts.

He was referring to the temperament of the players in the game. They're both having little kicks and niggles at one another. Then there's the feinting and feigning injury. No punches as of yet. It's almost a proper derby game.

Atleti could be 3-0 up right now and it wouldn't surprise me to see them implode and lose.

Lots of late challenges going in. Wouldnt be surprised to see a red card or two

Simeones resemblence to a Columbian drug cartel boss is uncanny

Their intensity tends to cost them towards the end of games. Against Barca in the first leg of the Super Copa they fatigued towards the end and could have actually lost the game. Lucky to get out with a draw, they deserved the draw but they almost lost it. Similar thing occurred at the Camp Nou.

Atleti certainly know how to play act, they look like they could be world champions at it.

costa made an absolute balls of that

Poor first touch from Costa, should have scored.

Atleti should be miles ahead here, que real winning it now

Has Bale taken a free for Madrid yet?

    How aren't they 2 up

    Oh dear Atleti..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

That was brilliant from Koke, unlucky.

This could have been a rout, Madrid all over the place and toothless upfront.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

    OMG!

Atleti c'mon you have to win this! So many chances. . .

Its quite funny how Costa is destroying the both nutters in the back for R. Madrid

    Arda Turan's beard is tremendous.

Where were you when Aleti beat Real in the league.. ?

    About damn time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

    Thoroughly deserved.

Courtois almost made a mess of it! Very lucky in a way.

Ugh, hate watching Atletico Madrid's antics. Scumbag player-turned-manager has his team rolling around the pitch at any opportunity.

I seem to remember some people insisting that Coentrao was the best left back in the world last season - football fans can be idiots at times :pac::pac::pac:

Nothing that Real and Barca haven't been doing for years.

Apparently David Moyes agrees with them

Him are arbeloa were poor, some of madrids passing was poision. Simple passing going astray!

Deserved win for atleti, should have been much more but could have been a draw. Really exciting things going on there these days and am a big fan of it. Think ancelotti needs to look at moratta more, benzema can be fairly trugid at times

Fully deserved win over the piece to be fair. Atleti should have wrapped it up before the end with the chances they had.

you must have missed it when he was throwing his hands up in the air gesturing for his player to get up off the ground..

they actually mentioned it during the game

Delighted with the result last night. Performance wasn't great, though.

If Madrid had a bit more upfront, they would have got something out of it. That said, Atleti had more than enough chances to finish it off, which they should have.

I was very nervous towards the end, I was convinced that Madrid would sneak something and took a while to actually realise that it had really happened.

It wasn't a great match to watch but the result is very important. It could really push the team on this, getting over that mental barrier of so long without a win against Madrid.

Don't agree. They squeezed the life out of Real and only for poor finishing, good goalkeeping and bad luck Atleti could have easily scored 3 or 4.

I was impressed at least, their work-rate and how organised the team is, is a sight to behold.

My only concern is keeping that level of closing down and work rate up for an entire season.

Seems like Courtois did get injured, I was cringing at his rolling around yesterday but apparently he got a kick on the finger.

I still do not understand why Real sold Higuain and kept Benzema. Benzema is such a wildly overrated striker...
