Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sunderland 16 : 00 Liverpool (that's 4 pm)

Sunderland caretaker boss Kenny Kevin Ball will be hoping his charges swing into action and bag the first win at Roker Park the Stadium of Light since April. Primary goal snaffler Stephen Fletcher is out for a month or so as is Wes Brown and Philip Bardsley, on loan Liverpool non goal scorer Fabio Borini is not able to play against his club of course.

Liverpool are probably missing Allen as well as Johnson, Coutinho and Cissokho.
Luis Suarez looks likely to start, but will it be in tandem with Sturridge who is out on his feet? All shall be revealed at 3.00pm

A win of any sort will bump LFC up to 3rd a two goal or better win up to 2nd (I think), which would be excellent after 6 games. Sunderland on 1 point just need to get something/anything out of this.

That's the first thing that struck me about the thread title too!

Liverpool should be beating Sunderland, but you can't trust them to do anything that they should do. This game could genuinely go any way.

We have a good record against Liverpool at home in recent times (won 2, drew 1, lost 1 from 4) and I think we'll come firing out of the blocks and keep it close for a while but ultimately Liverpool's class will show through and they'll win it.

I'd love to see us get something out of the game for Kevin Ball though. You'd be hard pressed to find many people who care about the club more than he does.

    1-3 Liverpool.

Should be a routine win for LFC. That means nothing though. 1-1

When other results go our way we always mess it up, score draw probably so.

    Scary, but true.

I'd be afraid to call it either way. I'm hoping last week was an unexpected 'glitch', and Southampton were better than expected. Unlike previous seasons, where any team could go to Anfield and win.
For now, the words 'Comfortable win' associated with the positive for Liverpool, are suspended my vocabulary.

    Mignolet
    Toure
    Skrtel
    Sakho
    Enrique
    Lucas---- Gerrard----

    Henderson
    Suarez
    Sturridge
    Moses

Is the rumoured Liverpool starting XI

Would be surprised at that as I would be expecting one of Kelly or Wisdom at RB.

    Unless we get

    Mignolet

    Skrtel
    Toure
    Sakho
    Henderson
    Enrique
    Lucas
    Gerrard
    Suarez
    Sturridge
    Moses

Could easily be a 352 type formation as well.

Sunderland are looking very long at 5/1... They can't be that poor, surely? They looked decent against Arsenal, and Liverpool haven't looked like much lately.

Would have to imagine that they would be up for today's game. Players may feel they need to prove that it was the old manager at fault for results.

Henderson's 100th game for Liverpool, if he starts, will be against his old club.

Yeah, was thinking there's often a bit of a bounce when a manager gets sacked. I'll stick a bit on it anyway. They're definitely winning this more than once out of six.

Especially when it's a manager that was so controlling, and disliked as a manager.

Lol good to see Kuyt back....

According to the Irish Times, Dirk Kuyt starts for Liverpool today... http://t.co/HZntkwVZMR"

100 games already  Jesus, where is the time going? Only 23 too, if he stays injury free he's going to rack up a serious amount of Premier League appearances before his career is over.

The big question has to be which away strip we wear today. :)

Do we go with white, black and red, or do we unleash the black and purple fury on them?

I'm a fan of the black and purple, much more so than the space invaders white jersey, so I'm hoping we go with that. These things are important.

Quite like the purple and black top myself. Our very own take on the Hart Foundations' pink and black attack. :D

I think there will be quite a few goals in this today. 3-0 to us. Toure or Sakho to get a header from a set piece, Suarez to produce a moment of magic and Sturridge to poach another.

nice reply kess73. Personnally I fancy a LFC win with both teams scoring 2-1 or hopefully 3-1 get us up to second.

    He's great :)

Was chuffed when i heard Liverpool bought him, a bit confused about Reina.

The only price i am happy Liverpool thought was 'too high' was Begovic (Who is also great), because we got Mignolet.

I'd guess City will Pounce on Begovic in the next window

EDIT - Hasn't there been something 'controversial' happen at this fixture the past three seasons? (Starting with the Beachball)

There was the dodgy free kick the season after. Kuyt and torres nipped in when it was passed back for the keeper to take, and scored.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.
