I've been more critical of this Sunderland team than many neutrals so I wouldn't say I'm biased. I have criticized Cattermole a lot in the past too. However, we have absolutely no drive in midfield without him playing and his energy is something we have lacked completely this season. He's playing well so far today.

As I always say on Cattermole, you don't play your whole career in the Premier League or captain three different sides if you don't have something about you.

Midfield has been poor more often than not this season, and that has been disguised somewhat by the decent start to the season.
