Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Brilliant stuff from Mignolet. It was offside, though.

Yep, Sunderland having a powerful forward is not causing us the kind of problems so far that type of player normally gives us.

Sakho is having no problems handling Altidore.

Yep .. days of carra with drogba spring to mind .

Moses needs to be much better.

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

You could just imagine the damage Coutinho would be doing playing in between the Sunderland lines of defence and midfield.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,887 ✭✭✭✭klose

Not great but cant complain with a 2-0 scoreline, if sunderland play like this more often theyll be fine. I expected this kind of performance from em like many others im sure

Days of pretty much every CB we have use since Sami left. Carragher was certainly not the only one that had bad days against strong fast forwards. Can remember quite a few of those days between Skrtel and Agger as well.

Rubbish apart from the goals. We can't keep expecting to get results playing like this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

    Sh*te opening 20...good following 20...meh last 5.

Sahko and Golo have been getting away with a lot/getting the benefit of the doubt in the first half, that won't continue in the second.

Feel sorry for Moses, he needs to be wide more often thats where his best work is done

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 4,006 ✭✭✭donfers

poor first half, lucky to be two up, big improvement second half please, sunderland the better side

having said all that, give me bad performances and good results all day long, it's how united have won their last few titles

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Moses is nearly nearly very good and then not at all good in the space of a second.

2-0 is a decent scoreline in the circumstances but I won't rest until its about 4.

The middle and use of the flanks is clearly an issue still - Johnson for Hendo and Coutinho for Moses would make all the difference.

Can it be a backpass going forward?

    Yes.
Strictly speaking its not the 'backpass' rule as direction never comes into it, more correct to call it the 'pass to the keeper' rule.

Hopefully Rodgers is reminding them of the past few second halves and we dont take the foot off he pedal.

    we really need another goal.

strange, dont feel we are playing well at all .. seen the good and bad from mingolet so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

We're not playing great overall, but I'd take this over playing great and it being 0-0.

Indeed. 2-0 is a dangerous lead as they say.

not playing great but will absolutely take 2-0. Enrique is pure headless but offering good width. If we had Johnson & coutinho back we would be destroying them. Moses has woken up but think he is just gliding through the game. Seems to be walking when he could get into better positions. Sturridge and Suarez looking good. The link up will take a few games but there are good signs! Come now lads, 2 more goals in the second half!

    ...for us.

Still not entirely convinced this team CAN play great. Which is worrying.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Hope to see a different Liverpool in the 2nd half and for them to push on for once this season and finish up 3 or 4 nil.

  • Site Banned Posts: 4,925 ✭✭✭Agueroooo

Revert back to 4 at the back and bring on Ibe for Moses.

Much like United without Fergie....Stoke being beaten without Pulis whinging doesn't have the same appeal.

We are missing our most creative player in coutinho and an essential cog in johnson, you could see what we are capable of the second of last season, well get to that again when they return imo

That's true actually . I guess I'm just thinking of high profile games where carra was bossed .

    Onwards and upwards .

Thought Moses done ok in the 1st half,
And he will help out the defence more than Ibe.

Sturridge praying to a bag of dicks.

and just to say, I still have no time for Suarez the person...but his quality is hugely welcome.
