Audio Drivers

Hi all

I have a Compaq Presario V6000 Laptop (Service Tag: V6150EA). I done a reinstall of Windows on the Laptop. It was Windows XP Media Center Edition but it is now changed to Windows XP Professional. It is a 32bit system.

I have been able to get most of the Drivers from hp.com but none of the Audio Drivers work from HP.com. I have also been looking at upgrading the BIOS but am not sure of the Correct Driver so will not mess with it until I am Certain. I have also tried Driver Software to located the Missing Drivers with no luck whatsoever.

I am also missing a Modem Driver as well as the Audio Driver. Any Suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you install the Intel Chipset Installation Utility for ICH7? Then try the Connexant HD Audio driver again.

Modem driver here. But do you still use a 56k analog internet connection? If not, you might as well disable the modem in the BIOS and forget about it.

If you are using wifi, or ethernet , to acess the web theres no need to install modem driver.
Modems are used for dial up net acess

99.9% of audio drivers are BS.

use this universal (and free) driver instead http://www.asio4all.com/

we use asio drivers in the music industry, its a much better and more stable protocol.

Thanks all for the Input. Managed to get the Modem Driver although it is no longer of use to me. Have not been home for a few days so will have to wait to try other Driver although I am pretty sure I already tried them.
