Pedigree Dog name

    Hi

I've booked a miniature dachshund puppy that I wish to show. The breeder has said we can name him on his papers. Any tips on how to choose a show name?
I've never had a pedigree dog before pet names take ages to come up with in this house so it'll be the same for this little boy.

What's the breeders prefix? Have you anything you like? Music, films etc? Could be anything.

    What a sweetheart.

According to Blog about Clonakilty Black Pudding, Ispini is the Irish for 'sausage'. He's adorable, and black. That'd make me think of D(h)ubh, with or without the putóg before.

Bear in mind that unless you're showing or breeding it's of relatively little significance. My dog's IKC name was "his-birth-townland Pride" but he answered to something else entirely.

Given that Daddy is Russian, how about Vladimir Puchin?

How about Ispini Faigh iad (Sausages Fetch Them), Ispini Le do Thoil (Sausages Please) or Ispini Gan an Iomarca (sausages not too many)?

Edited to add: Your pup is beyond adorable, by the way :D

Sausages and jam? Sounds weird to me, although hubby has grown fond of boxty with marmalade, so probably wouldn't be much of a stretch to add sasages to that  Wouldn't be for me, but each to their own!

I like "Ispini Black and Tan", relative to Ireland & descriptive to both the dog & sausages :D

Should it be "gleoite" with o before i?

I love the look of the little fella, and love all the suggestions, But please insist that people call him a Dachshund (with a hard ch) not a dash- hound. I'm sick of the look of bewilderment when I try to pronounce it right and Irish people (big horsey women) say "YES, DASH-hound!".

I'm trying to come up with how to spell it phonetically... Glow-cheh is the closest I can think of right now!

Aww, he's so CUTE!! Mind you - I've yet to see a puppy I've not fallen in love with! And I ADORE his KC name - such an original choice. Well done, whoever suggested it! :D
