Might be moving to waterford in a few weeks for a new job, just finished college last May and I'm 22. Just wanted to know where is the best place to live in the city that isn't too studenty...

Sorry if similar threads have been started before, could only find ones for families moving to waterford.

Depends on where you will work; do you have a car; how you like to socialise, budget, etc.

Working in IDA Industrial Park, Old Kilmeaden Road. I'll have a car but would want to be within cycling distance as I want to be able to cycle to work too. Would want to try keep costs down as I'm trying to save as much as I can but at the same time I don't want to live in a crappy place. Would also be nice to be near enough some bars, doesn't have to be walking distance.

I just don't want to be living with a load of young college students who will destroy the house.

Somewhere like hillview or Marion Park would be ideal for you, lismore park would tend to have a lot of students, so that may not suit you, those two locations would be less than five mins of a cycle.

Sorry but I have to ask because of the title but what is the difference between a "Graduate" and a normal person when it comes to choice of location? Not being smart but just wondering?

well he says that he doesnt want to live in a studenty place. Ardkeen Village is nice. Dunmore road is nice in general, decent bus service, handy few shops, close enough to city centre. you would need a car if you work is out on the IDA estate.

Might be a fair cycle though - depending on where be chooses on the Dunmore Road. Hilllview might be an option alright.

Well I don't want to be landed renting a house in the countryside with a couple of people in their 30's and 40's. Should have said young adult I suppose, I'm 22. Only seeing myself as a normal person now....

Welcome to normality. I wish you well in your quest to find suitable accommodation and make sure you do your research before you move in anywhere.
