RYR 701(Stansted-Kerry) and RYR 905 (Stansted -Cork)

Rumours abound that rather than the wind being the reason for diversion, Kerry refused to accept this livery from RYR :pac: http://www.planespotters.net/Aviation_Photos/photo.show?id=448229

He might get in by using the shorter runway and with the SE wind might suit also

So according to the RYR website Kerry - Stansted will now involve ferrying pax from Kerry to Shannon by coach. Not sure about the Cork diversion - too far for coaches at this hour?

M-FTHD currently crossing Ireland (West-East) . just east of Knock currently.

About 1 and a half hours from KIR to SNN and just under 2 hours for ORK to SNN

They will probably bus the pax from SNN to KIR and position the a/c to KIR for the outbound

An Aer Arann also ahead of it into ORK

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,179 ✭✭✭✭fr336

    Arann made it in

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,179 ✭✭✭✭fr336

    RYR in too

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,179 ✭✭✭✭fr336

RYR Kerry - Stansted is apparently an ETA arrival of 3am... This is after a diversion from Kerry to Shannon earlier.

RYR96P has set off from SNN positioning flight to ORK

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,179 ✭✭✭✭fr336

Might the reason the RYR Kerry - Stansted flight, now at Shannon due to earlier diversion from Kerry, is so delayed is due to Kerry now being closed and so unlike Cork where they can position to, they are having to bus the Kerry pax to Shannon? Billie will probably facepalm at this question

It could be or if there are no buses available they could be waiting for KIR to open again.

If time drags on I guess I'll be seeing a few pax complaints on the old Twitter :pac:

In an ideal world low cost airlines would have another option in such situations - one load of pax can have a refund straight away and board an ATR which goes straight into the winds. If they survive, cool. If not, ah well it's better than waiting and not getting food and accomodation laid on :pac:

RYR Kerry - Stansted is now gearing up for a straight flight from Shannon - Stansted. Guess they bussed pax from Kerry relatively quickly.

96P positioned to operate the delayed STN-ORK. :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,179 ✭✭✭✭fr336

Seems I was a bit premature about the Kerry (operating from Shannon) - Stansted flight. No sign of it actually moving yet, maybe still getting pax up from Kerry. Hats off to those working on this.

Love during delayed flights how quick they can get from A to B when its quiet, just as I last checked which seems like twenty minutes ago FR906 was airborne, its on finals now into STN. About an hour air time it looks like for them.
