EI73A Dublin - Ibiza just took off about 20 mins ago and reported issue with aileron. Flight continued with ATC saying they will report the it to Iberia.
ATC also asked if the flight crew felt any vibration on the takeoff run.

Would this be normal procedure? What is the connection with Iberia?

Iberia could be the maintenance provider in Ibiza?

It's normal within set parameters/guidelines - If the pilot and Aer Lingus maintenance don't see it as an immediate concern than it can be checked/fixed at the arrival airport where operations permit (Captain has final decision). Iberia are Aer Lingus' Ground Handler at IBZ and the majority of Spanish airports.

It's just the callsign they use for Valencia-Dublin. A good few such callsigns around the network, morning SNN-STN for example is RYR1Y

Cool thanks, I always thought it was RYR82GL for VLC to DUB, never seen it shortened to just RYR8G, thanks for the update

Can't be too serious I wouldn't think as they've overflown Montpellier & heading for Marseille...at a guess I'd say cabin pressure based on cruising height

Marseille is a base, they'd have more available options there.

Ryanair has no bases in France. Could have chose MRS for a number of reasons. Airport charges; having a large amount of destinations would suggest deals with handling agents/airport, fimiliararity, ability to accept diversion, etc. The list goes on.

Same thing happens with airlines flying over Ireland; have an emergency and chose to go to MAN/LHR instead of DUB/SNN.

Sorry, I apologise, *was* a base, hence why I said more options as they still have flights daily to and from it.

Showing zero altitude over water. I hope everything is okay.

I'm not 100% sure how all this works.

I'm hoping it both squawking 7700 and showing zero altitutde over water is simply one hell of an FR24 error :(

ETA: Cargo airline just for people's information.

I really hope so. Some reports on twitter saying has landed safely so fingers crossed.

Edit: Hong Kong Airport saying its a the gate. Looks like a FR24 glitch.
