Was surprised to see Ryanair and whoever else nowhere to be seen at DUB. Thought it'd be really busy till midnight - how naive :P

I also thought it would be busy like last year

No Ryanair try to be finished by 6pm. Aer Arann is still recovering from earlier and will probably be still dashing back and forth for a while. EI traditionally have the last flights coming from the Canaries and the entire airport waits on them to get in to close.

I'm a newbie to flight radar! What's the difference between the orange and yellow planes? :)

    AFAIK Yellow are live,
Orange usually over the US with slight delay!

Yellow are from real time data i.e. FR24 receivers. Orange are 5 min delay and from the FAA (so 100% accurate). But the yellow ones are almost certainly accurate anyway.

    This is my understanding anyway!

What's the record for an eastbound Atlantic crossing from JFK to Ireland? This Etihad left JFK just 4hrs51mins ago and is already crossing the west coast!

On Saturday night planes were doing 650 knots in that record 240-knot jet streak. I wonder how long it took them then?

EI have rented an A330 to Novair for the winter season to fly to Caribbean destinations.

Gotta feel for the guys in EI who are stuck operating it today, flying overhead home on Christmas morning. So near yet so far!

Just trying Flightradar on Android. Can you set your location rather than using your phone's location services?

So will there be some staff at most of the Irish airports then, especially DUB, for emergency landings and the like?

Fire crew at Dublin. ATC is on 30 min standby they were meant to be in but the coastguard base hasn't been built yet so they are on home standby
