On a separate note theres a Falcon 900 passing over the midlands inbound Dublin. reg is N94UT

refuel/stop over or dropping in somebody i wonder?

According to Twitter, pilot asked for Glasgow and was recommended Prestwick.

It would want to start dropping a bit more. I wonder will he go into the hold for while.

was thinking the same, burning off fuel?

theres a Ryanair thats much further out at 18,000 feet, so its defo going to hold as it should be at about 12,000-15,000 by now.
    anybody have the Prestwick frequency?

Was just thinking that. It's a pita that we can't listen to UK ATC feeds.

    Apparently it's dumping fuel now.

why descend that much tho? still declaring emergency apparently.

only logical explanation for frankfurt is too muchn fuel and not able to land in PIK anyway.

still at fl21, but about to enter holding area perhaps.

    frequency?

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,346 ✭✭✭✭homerjay2005

it IS heading to Frankfurt apparently, so it cannot be too serious.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,500 ✭✭✭Jack1985

    why descend that much tho?

Fly in more dense air, higher fuel burn - And if they're already dumping, the process will be much quicker than dumping at a higher altitude.

Nice bit of separation for Dublin Approach to do in a while, four Shamrock's sticking together off the South coast. :)

pilot has some balls then going that long with just one engine!

wonder if the fact that its a 777 make it newsworthy?

Strange place to park a airplane.

Out in the mid atlantic Faial Island, no callsign, zoom in to see.

Must be a transponder in a car.

that Cargo plane still squaking emergency, but still not landed...has turned east and away from Frankfurt.

droped to FL19 now, i would assume its going to Leipzig-Halle instead of Fra, as perhaps they have a parts hub or base there.

While on the ground in Leeds. Could be a mistake setting the squawk code?
