Airliners should equip crew with these http://www.wickedlasers.com/laser-tech/laser_eye_safety.html

Probably should...except...what's that...oh money. (Don't mean that as rude to you, mean as rude to the airlines :p)

I guess but what's a few bob to Airliners who bring in 100's of Millions of €€ . I don't want to turn this into a debate :p but when you look at it as,instead of a whole plane crashing because one of the crew flicked a wrong switch, because they couldn't see,in comparison to a few €1000 in safety glasses

Yeah it's mad, maybe they are looking at their options, aviation seems sensible compared to certain other industries where they take off with millions in executive salaries and kick up a huge fuss over little business costs...thieves.

Wasn't there legislation brought in recently to try and combat this? They really need to get a few prosecutions to send a message out. Though catching them in the act is easier said than done.

El Al 747s are occasional overflights, but their 767s are quite rare. Over NI now heading south-east.
