ATC were surprised with the request to convert hPa to inHg, took them a few minutes!

BA should 1. have enough fuel and 2. do their homework. It's true that if it was FR someone, somewhere (London) would actually make a story of it.

Didn't see a NOTAM for it though

First rule of aviation - check the fr24 thread first.

Does seem odd that there was no mention of it. However I didn't heard the FR off the Wicklow coast complaining, or anyone else. Only BA380 seemed peeved.

'If you have a story Dispatches should investigate, e-mail dispatches@channel4.co.uk'

Sorry..how long before the BA fanboys surround me :p

Just listening back to the ATC feed..billie let me jump in feet first without full facts :P The BA actually raised the fact with DUB that the event wasn't on the NOTAM. However it still annoys me that another certain airline complaining about running low on fuel would be crucified in the British press if they got hold of it. I'm not sure why the BA wasn't fully flexible with fuel (maybe they just wanted to get in after not knowing about the event) but as we know no airline operates outside well within the limits.....

Current speed champ in the air is this ANA 777-300ER south of Alaska with a ground speed of 621 knots / 715 mph!

    http://fr24.com/ANA1012

Departed 25 mins late but with that tailwind they're estimating arrival 48 mins early!

First time I've ever noticed something like this on FR24, SPAR21, USAF C-40C (Military 737-700)

Broadcasting incorrect ICAO hex, so the FR24 mil auto-blocker didn't catch it.
