Story in the Indo about it. Slight disconnect between the plane's image and description though!

Must have been plenty of room for the eight people on that plane ;)

I think that's why they initiated the emergency plan, so they could search the plane for them.

There's a Lancaster flying about just behind it in Bournmouth

Think the Delta 7700 was out of Paris and going to land at Gatwick or Heathrow

Delta DL29 7700 "technical issue". Diverting into LHR.

Just wondering if anyone knew what a Virgin Atlantic a340 was doing flying very low over Limerick at around 7pm last night. Looked like it was climbing out of Shannon.

Just used the fr24 playback - it was indeed out of SNN at that time. From the looks of things it was diverted in there on a New York to London flight.

I heard a loud rumble over my house in Sandyford a few minutes ago and when I checked it out on FlightRadar, it was a Turkish airlines flying into DUB at just over 2,000ft and doing just under 300kts. That seems very low for a flight that still had a loop of Dublin to do. It was also significantly lower than the other flight coming in to land at the same time. Does anyone have any idea why it might do that?

No idea why but noticed it myself. Was out and about in Knocklyon between 2pm and 3pm. Had spotted EI A330 a few mins earlier. The TK B737 certainly felt significantly lower.

The altitude will have been as directed by ATC. Playing the flight back on FR24 it appears to have been at 4-5,000 feet over your area - which is what I would expect, given the high ground. Comparing its groundspeed (with a tailwind) to that of other aircraft on approach around the same time, it was not out of the ordinary.

Rare to see A318's in Dublin, TAROM one in tonight in place of the B737. And it's climbing at a phenomenal rate too!

Not so pleasant news from my neck of the woods - two guys acting suspiciously under the Luton fightpath. Well away from the airport but enough to have the planes relatively low for landing. When shouted at by local MP they ran off. Police all over the place now.
