Wonder if these will show up on FR24?

The Geological Survey of Ireland is conducting an airborne geophysical survey - the Tellus North Midlands project.

The aircraft will fly at an altitude of 90m in rural areas with an instrument towed beneath the aircraft at an altitude of approximately 45m.

The aircraft are C208B Cessna Grand Caravan planes with registrations ZS-FSA and ZS-SSA.

Well done to everyone on this thread for keeping it so popular, didn't think it would ever get the interest it currently does.

They base a 737NG in Belfast each Summer to cover the Thomson sun routes, always nice to hear a Canadian accent. C-FEAK was the aircraft this year. I believe they do likewise for other European bases.

I believe Thomson reciprocate in our Winter season when the Canucks head south for warmer weather. See, they do it right - go on holiday when it's cold at home.

Watching it on FR24 and noticed it's approach speed was down to 117 kts and landing speed was 116 kts. Is this unusually low for a 744?

It passed over my house and the whole place shook:eek:

Looked up flightradar and it said it was at 1600ft and 135knots

The tower actually said to the ATR42 following behind that he was very slow on approach. nice tight turn on to finals to!
