British Airways has 267 scheduled flights on Christmas Day, on which 37,000 turkey dinners will be served.

I can personally vouch for this. Many moons ago I had to join a ship in NZ over the Christmas period. No flights on Christmas Day from the homeland so had to fly to Heathrow on Christmas eve and take a flight to LAX with BA on Christmas day. The crew couldn't have been nicer and were trying their best to keep the few pax on board happy.

Interestingly I didn't have a Stephens day as we crossed the international date line leaving on the 25th and arriving on the 27th!

Nice to hear. I guess in many cases working on Christmas day does have a good purpose for those involved, for some people for whatever reason it may not be the happiest time of year (spouse passed away as a random example).

Apologies for my bad humour last night Growler, based on previous experience I'm sure you meant well. Season's greetings to you.

    On fr24 site for DUB:

    23:19 EI2120 Orlando (MCO) Aer Lingus A332 EI-LAX Delayed 23:40

Some change in the ETA now!

I believe it is a cancellation from yesterday being run today.

It might be fun to record how few aircraft someone can see on Flight Radar over the holiday period.

Zoom fully out then, Top Left of screen, click the aircraft heading, 8466 at the moment.

Sorry Jack, a built in habit from not wanting to confuse EI the airline with EI the aircraft registration. Sounds very silly now, and not sure what my purpose was, but it must have made sense at the time.

    Season's greetings.

I see it's LAX. I've been delayed/canceled more than once on that lemon of an aircraft.

The clip that is going through my head is a family guy clip, when they describe the person who came before Jesus. 'He was meant to be the original saviour but he came out a real Lemon.
