    AF54 Squawking emergency over Canada

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,161 ✭✭✭PukkaStukka

AFR54 from Paris to Washington squawking the 7's over Canada and descending very rapidly indeed.

Edit: May be heading for Montreal

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,179 ✭✭✭✭fr336

Aircraft on approach to DUB asked what wind was right now, gusting 58 knots, "shouldn't have asked"

  • Registered Users Posts: 165 ✭✭windowspotter

Saw descent rate of 7500 feet per minute just there

Never knew a 777 could manage to take off from 16. Thought it was too short.

I'm wondering if that is wrong and should be an A330, no?

Hard to say. They are below FL010 now but the rate of descent has tapered off considerably. Still looks to be heading to land.

is the 3 code reserved for something or what is the significance of it that has alerted you?

my guess is that its a holding flight due to an earlier diversion? looks to be heading to Shannon.

No, definitely a 777. Spotted it over Blackrock after takeoff. Pretty cool seeing a plane of that size over Dublin. Must have been cool to see it over Santry.

It looks that its going to Kerry, as the Luton flight has not taken off yet, despite it having been schudeled two hours ago.

Looks as if it's replacing a faulty aircraft at Kerry.

AFR54 seems confident it can vacate the runway on landing. No need for evac

I wonder if the replacement FR for Kerry-Luton will now become a LTN based aircraft

Possibly. Ryanair switch around their aircraft so much it's likely. The one that's in Kerry can't stay there, as its pointless leaving it there, so it will either go to Dub or luton.
