I host one of the recievers near Shannon, not 800e worth of gear. It's a raspberry pi box with an antenna. You must send exact location coordinates and pictures of where you would mount antenna. However there are quite a few receivers around the country now so not so sure they plan sending many more.

    Is that Mlat capable?

    Slightly off topic but,

I was in the crescent one day shopping and seen a group of about 7 older teenage lads shine aload of lasers into cars passing by. One of them crashed into the curb. Luckily, they didn't realise that just beside them was an unmarked garda car. Out hopped 2 gardai and put handcuffs on all but one of them (One of them successfully ran away). I never found out what the result was, but it was funny to see. For the record, the car was not damaged nor was the person in it or anyone around injured.

I seen an a380 from jfk-dxb passing over north east cork a while ago. It took 4hrs 45mins to get from JFK to there and was going a speed of 1089km. Pretty speedy t/a crossing.

That will sicken them. As a teenager I can't understand the mentality of some other teenagers. There is nothing fun about shining a laser into someones eye

I know the procedure and already have the device. Just wondering how much the device is worth? FR show you two devices you can purchase yourself (instead of getting a free one) and one of them, which looks like the one FR provided me costs 800+

That's the same box I have too. Surely it couldn't be costing FR24 quite that much per box. At any rate I found the packing note sent with mine which lists a value of $32......

Yes, I believe only the FR24 receivers are used for mlat, with feeders own personal hardware that may be used excluded from mlat

They have a 757 from TXL-EWR don't they? I can't imagine with that wind their would get far.

UA973 seems to be diverting somewhere. Over England at the moment.

Im surprised they even made it that far.

AC823 LHR-YYT (A319) is flying today. Id be very surprised if it made it across, it has had to stop at Shannon before due to winds.

Edit: Seems to be diverting to Shannon. Its following LHR-SNN.

Is it a diversion though ? Probably a scheduled fuel stop for today.

UAL 973 still heading south. No change in squawk code

UAL 973 holding North of London

Sorry yes I presume it is a fuel stop. Just confirming Carnacalla suspicions.

UAL 973 now landing at Heathrow . This flight was going from Brussels to Chicago and diverted to Heathrow. Wondering why ? Squawk Code 7104 never changed. Was holding North of London.

Anyone come up with a reason. As the aircraft could have landed at Manchester or Birmingham if required.

And just minutes before UA973 landed at LHR, UA930 from San Fransisco did a go around

Not suggesting they are related BTW, just observed it happening while watching Ua973

A319 has range of 3200 nautical miles. It shouldn't have to stop

But then I am surprised that routes like this aren't diverting

And also Madrid which is schedhuled for 9 hours and 40 minutes!!

No sorry I was just wondering whether it would be considered a "diversion" or if you had planned to do it on the way it was a tech stop. I was more thinking out loud than anything else.
