Will that close the runway while they look for debris?

Yeah, agree ! It seems to be stuck in a permanent hold out there ! Anyone been listening , is there a problem or just wind speed preventing landing , wonder it didn't divert like other REA's?

How did it look from the ground?
I was on that flight, yeah... fairly hairy alright. The first run, I had a feeling they were going to go around a minute before they did. It was gusting like crazy. Nice 45-50 minutes holding before the wind finally settled down enough to let us land.

From where i was standing it looked like the left wing dipped heavily just as she was about to touch down, looked pretty dodgy. It was pitch dark though and possibly looked more dramatic than it really was.

Not too much of a delay I would say. Ryanair that followed in reported runway to be clear. Doing runway inspection now. Busy busy day!

With this, and 10 aircraft holding and more on the way, there must be at least one controller saying "I guess I picked the wrong day to give up smoking".:D

And it looks like I picked the wrong day to have a lie in. Missed all the fun :(

It looks like this thread is drifting away from what I'd imagine it was supposed to be for.

I know most of you are looking at FR24 but a running commentary going on - and lasting for pages!

    Oh well.

Well we have to discuss it somewhere :pac:

And coming back again. Must be very fuel efficient. A certain other airline would have diverted long before now, feel sorry for the PAX, Lovely plane as I'm sure the ATR is, I doubt anyone on board is loving this.

And goign back out again - was that the one linked with Belfast?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

yeah, looks like it, not a nice flight to be on by the looks of things.

question for anyone in the know. Probably been asked before but how much extra fuel is taken on as standard? Is there a formula to use?

BAW 1 Coming across shortly on its way to shannon.

Love the fact that the tiny A318 goes transatlantic.

It's a Business class only flight, uses Shannon for fuel and US border clearance. It's essentially the new Concorde without the speed.

    Stolen from Concorde itself.

It has additional fuel tanks if I recall correctly. Would be a great experience.

Depends on where its cheapest, if it was going to MAN this morning and the fuel price is higher here, they will usually just take a standard amount here and then fill up as close to the limits as they can in MAN to bring home the extra

Yeah it has indeed, leaves LCY with minimum fuel and in SNN fills up to them brim to get them across, they have 2 A318's configured for it

Does it have its own specifice website for bookings? Looked on BA website but it routes me from SNN to LHR to JFK

Maybe one can't board in SNN

Yeah more than likely it is, it was originally American Wests callsign and when US and American West merged they kept the Cactus callsign but kept all operations under the US Airlines brand. When US and American airlines merge fully in March I believe the brand is being kept as American Airlines which callsign is boring 'American'
