Signed up for this last week.

Anyone who did it ladt year have any tips?

Do you need a wetsuit to do it?

How do you train for this type of event?

you dont train for it, its a bit of craic, whatever your doing for fitness at the moment will more than suffice.. ( havent done this event but did a similar muck n slobber type thing during the year )

Done it last year, going to do it again this year. Wetsuit is not essential, but keeps you warmer in cold november air, water and muck - old shortie would do, you can also buy cheap new - 30-40 euro, they sell it in Killary Center. Bring strong tape to fix your old runners to your feet, otherwise you might finish barefeet:D

Hey guys - how difficult are the obstacles in this? Do you need lots of upper body strength? I'm pretty fit but only started cycling and running this year.. I did Currane challenge and cycle was grand even in windy Achill but not ready to run up that mountain so trekked it instead :( So for Turf Warriors is there anything I can do in advance? Will be out running again this week.. Oh and the fancy dress party - do people dress up?? do many stay over night? Any info would be great, thanks!

    Hey,
check these videos, they will give you an idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOGRvEVyuoo

If you have basic fitness level and you not afraid of getting wet, dirty and cold, you will do it. Its a fun run, people help each other at obstacles etc

Yes, people get dressed for the party, crowd is big, good craic

    Hey,
I done it last time..lots of fun :) no training needed.just enjoy it.
Used a compression shirt last time and felt comfort. But take a thick socks or tape for a tight pack.
