Was at the Community Bingo in Calasanctius College Oranmore, was great fun, loads of tension when the full house was close to being won! Any ideas for other events on a Monday or are their other Bingo nights in Galway?

Dunno about Bingo but I could recommend a few decent bars. Try the Galway City Forum

The Black Magic Jazz band play in Busker Browne's starting at 10pm on a Monday night. Fantastic music and plenty of people to dance with, if you're so inclined.

I know Gbar has Bingo Sunday nights but Mondays, not sure. Usually a slow night like (at least for me).

There's an interesting singer/songwriters session in Padraigs from about 9:30, if you're into that sort of thing. Kind of folk / Irish style, quite small / intimate (ie you're not gonna make a fool of yourself in front of a lot of people), and a few instruments have been turning up lately.

If you're into drawing, every two weeks there is a drink and draw on Mondays from 20.30 in McSwiggans. Look for Galway Pubscrawl.

There doesn't seem to be too much available that doesn't involve either drinking or pubs! Not a lot to do in Galway if you're the type who is not a pub goer.

There is always something on, but you have to look at The Advertiser etc. Theatre Festival was on all week, and the Comedy Festival is coming up soon for example.

Oh, did we forget to mention the two cinemas, two theatres (ok, so one doesn't have shows on all the time but the other does), year-round street buskers to watch, zillions of sports clubs, several musical societies, at least five serious choirs, lots of different musical-learning groups (trad, bodhran, guitar, various classical instruments, brass) history societies, walking clubs, toastmasters etc, etc etc.

Now most of them aren't suitable for a walk-up one Monday night with no commitment.

But seriously - what do you do in other cities if you're there for one night only? What venue are lots of activities held in there?

    Sheesh!

In fairness standing gawking at a busker or going to a public speaking course is hardly a substitute for a night out.

In fairness right back at ya: someone was complaining that there's nothing to do on a Monday that doesn't involve a pub / drinking. I didn't see any request for a "night out".

It's fair to assume most of Galway does their drinking during the evening/night.
