Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Insurance Cancellation

    Hey all,

I have recently cancelled my insurance mainly because I can't afford it. I received a letter claiming I owe 11.00 to them 3 days after I cancelled. However I got another letter off them today saying I owe them the odds of around 80 euro.

Rang them up and tried to get an explanation, he said on the phone I owe them 30 odd euro and there was a cancellation fee of 50.00 (I pay by installments)

However looking in the policy booklet, It states that a 50 euro administration fee is charged to those who cancel within the first 14 days, and another one for those who cancel after a year.

However it says nowhere in their policy book, or terms about a cancellation fee if you are with them after 14 days or under a year.

I explained this to the guy on the phone who kept denying it and said I owe them the fee and he would send me out another policy booklet stating the 50 euro charge.

So am I legally obliged to pay the 50 euro? Even though it doesn't state it in their Cancellation policy?

I'd have no problem if it stated it, but it doesn't. Only for those who cancel within 14 days or after a year.

    Cheers guys.

Also about the letters, the fact they sent one stating I owed 11 euro after I cancelled and that my account would be closed, then another one stating I owe them 80 odd euro and I have 10 days to pay it?
