Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For all their domination there's only a goal in it, a flukey one at that.

    City will surely get better

Bayern have such a good team and they're playing great against a top side. I just wish they'd stop diving so shamefully, they don't even need to :(
Haven't noticed much if any diving myself.

Bayern were very dominant but didn't have much cutting edge.

Its not that its that bad, its a combination of them not being as good as some people would like to believe and Munich are one hell of a team!

The signs are there in fairness, defeats to teams like Cardiff and Villa could hardly have you confident you will be able to match up to Munich. I understand they are isolated results, can happen to anyone. In all honesty though City have not looked brilliant yet this season.

It will take time to adapt to a new way of playing/manager I guess.

I can forgive those defeats in teh league, don;t bother me at all. The Villa one was an aberration, City dominated that game...anyway.

The team that is on the pitch tonight is capable of much much better performance than they have shown thus far.

The good news for City is that they are just one goal down, Bayerns tika taca is much more enjoyable than Barcas.

It's all well ans good being enjoyable, and that was an absolutely superb half produced by Bayern Munich, but it has yet to prove to be as effective as Barcelona's.

Its easy to allow the occasion to get to you though, to sort of freeze a little in the face of such skill, speed and strength backed by the confidence to use it that you get from Bayern.

I expect City to improve over the season, as I do United and Chelsea but I wouldn't get hung up on getting dominated by arguably the best team in Europe for the last 2-3 years

How do they do that? Win the league? They have done that, win the CL? They have done that too :)

Dante is a serious defender. Nothing gets by him. Silva and Negredo on hopefully. We need to change something.

Why does it have to be as effective as Barcelona's? They played a style of play that humped Barcelona 7-0 last year and it was good to watch. Bayern have the players to have effective Plan B's & C's.

Loads of pace this half, really speeding up is helping us here

Still think City need an extra body in midfield, even if that means sacrificing a forward.

    Clichy?

He literally (real literally not Jamie Redknapp literally) ran away from Muller!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

That was just mental. He goes with him, so has to know he's played him onside and then just stops.

Because that will effectively determine who the greater side is in the annals of history. Also we all know that there were some circumstances that conspired somewhat against Barcelona over those two legs, this seasons Barcelona are far more rounded and far more equipped than last seasons. Anyway I will now promptly drop that subject as this is, afterall, this is City vs Bayern.

    Oh look, Bayern scored again.

Joe Hart beaten again by Robben on his right foot.

    Really poor by City.

This could end 6 or 7 nil, men against boys.

Pellegrini was 50/1 the other day.....

    Joe Hart shocking again.

Kroos is such a good player

Also lol at Joe Hart, I'm guessing sky will brush it under the carpet

Joe Hart is a complete joke. Very mistake prone lately. Probably more than ten keepers in the PL better than him. City are terrible but Bayern are a fearsome prospect this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,480 ✭✭✭✭cson

Hart must surely be one of the most overrated players going.

He's cost City numerous goals at this stage.

Haha were Bayern singing football's coming home?

Or was it their own chant to the tune?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 6,798 ✭✭✭karma_

Very poor from Hart, tbh he messed up for the second too when he committed instead of covering.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,326 ✭✭✭S28382

City need a good CB to partner Kompany and a new goalkeeper Harte is gone shockingly unpredictable.

Didn't David Platt say that he and Mancini were planning to sign Begovic before they got the boot?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Don't think there's much wrong with Nastasic with Kompany tbh

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 35,514 ✭✭✭✭efb

They've got Harte but no soul...
