Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Phones/tablets on Asian websites

I came across a few Chinese/Singaporean website which, to the naked eye, have unbelievable deals on tablets and network unlocked phones. Just wondering if anybody has had any dealings with such websites and while I accept that they may be very reliable as far as delivery of product goes, how reliable are the products once they land.

I only ask because I met a guy in Cork while I was working down there a few yrs ago who bought knock off iPhones from a guy on the street (or so the story goes) but they weren't as described. I just wonder how likely this is to happen if I bring em in from a retailer who seems to have a good reputation (I found the site here on another forum, can't remember where).

there's a long thread on Chinese android phones here which includes reviews of various Chinese websites supplying them.

In summary - a few years ago most Chinese phones were poor-quality iPhone knockoffs, but you can now get good quality, high-spec Android phones for very good prices. Read the thread, there's loads of useful information in there.

Thanks for that. I was on the mobile when I posted that and never even checked for a similar thread. First rule of threads.... check if someone got there first.

Mods... feel free to merge or delete as you see fit.
