Would love to see Frightened Rabbit added.

I'd personally rather see The Twilight Sad, but Frightened Rabbit is the more likely to be at EP.

no european dates this summer so no chance :(

they should have booked them when they were playing Leeds & Reading the week before EP down through the years

i must be completely out of the loop so! wouldn't have thought they're anywhere near as popular as Hot Chip, Ed Sheeran, The Knife, or even David Byrne & St. Vincent, all EA headliners/sub-headliners in the last 2 years.

then again, there isn't many acts of that caliber on this year's lineup so far....

Ryan Sheridan headlined EA last year , I know he is popular but could have seen him sub or somewhere on the Main Stage . Suppose he is Irish.

Tbh i dont no much about LG but as said since they headlined John Peel at Glastonbury i was just presuming .

Yea there always a few acts at R&L that would fit on the EP line up but we never got anyone

Anyone else think that The Glitch Mob might be a possibility? I asked them a while back on Twitter if they have any Irish dates coming up, got no answer but edIT favourited the tweet.

Now they're just after posting European tour dates for August with more to be announced. The last one at the minute is Leeds festival on the 24th of August.

Rankin's wood replaced Crawdaddy not the Electric arena as someone said a few pages back. Its still called the EA (At least it was in 2013),

LG headlined the John Peel stage at Glasto! It was completely jammed not a chance of getting anywhere near, tried but was easily 50M from getting inside the tent! Sound doesn't travel too well outside of a tent + I could barely see them so I moved on.

But that was the UK and a much bigger festival, LG in my mind would fit in nicely in the EA before 6 on the Sunday! Bit of soothing melodic bliss before going buck mad for the last night!

The EA was smaller last year about 5,000 or 6,000 capacity, it used to be about 10,000 capacity the same size as the Clash Arena at Rockness festival. Come to think of it, the John Peel looks very like the EA from last year a yellow and blue stripe marquee.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

I get you now! Didn't realise it changed so dramatically in size!

Plenty I don't "get" and to be honest I have yet to see them live but by all accounts their performance at Glastonbury was one of those had to be there moments. She has a haunting voice which is phenomenal and I for one can't wait to check them out.
I personally don't "get" the Pet Shop Boys so will be avoiding at all costs. Urgh!

Mincey I think you should really go and see the pet shop boys, kinda like facing your fears, you'll enjoy it!

Here's one to get you started!

Listen Fatty, I grew up listening to their ****e music and I certainly won't be subjecting myself to the horror of them being there live. I'm sure there will be plenty of other things to do and if not I can go and play some spoons in the woods and it will be 100% more entertaining. :p

Have you heard the last PSB LP - Electric?

    it's immense.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,539 ✭✭✭ghostdancer

i like PSB's music, but Tennant's voice just goes through me.
Mince Pie I'll join your spoons band when they're on! :D

I'll be the spoons band biggest supporter! I have seen PSB before, supporting Take That, and just don't get the love for them. Like ghostdancer his voice goes through me

I'm currently compiling an Electric Picnic playlist on my iPod to get myself psyched, so keep the songs coming! Any suggestions for the dance acts would be great, since I don't know too many of them!

My friend runs a Ticketmaster outlet here and he just posted a message on Facebook saying it looks like it'll sell out soon, so anyone planning on getting a ticket would want to do so asap

Thanks very much for the above suggestions!

Does anyone have any idea what FKA Twigs might be like live? I find her very interesting, but I'm having difficulty imagining what her music would be like in a festival setting.

The third main announcement is the filler stuff that goes on the EP main line up banner or poster, what did you think I was asking?

Hard to say, you phrased it stupidly.

would love to see the Skatalites!!
    Would like to see:
    Aphex Twin / Tuss
    Jon Hopkins
    John Butler Trio
    Iggy & the Stooges
LKJ and the Dennis Bovell Dub Band
    Yellowman (main stage or Trenchtown)
    Animal Collective
    Butthole Surfers (curious, like)
    Reid
    Forward Strategy Group
    Blur
    Skatalites
Bocs Social (a great ska band from Wexford)
Bombskare (a great ska band from Edinburgh and practically resident at the Wickerman festival in Scotland)
David Gilmour (In light of getting the amazing Robert Plant this year, how about some Floyd classics next year)
Liz Fraser (ex-Cocteau Twins and Massive Attack)
    Portishead
    Ceephax Acid Crew
    Boards of Canada
Daevid Allen with Steve Hillage, Gilli Smyth, Dider Malherbe, Tim Blake and Mike Howlett as GONG!
Hawkwind with Brock, Lemmy and Tim Blake at least
Daft Punk (but they can sell out numerous double the EP capacity events, so not realistic and EP would sell out too fast)
Prince (pretty eclectic enough but definitely a major headliner)
    Air.
