I'd rather walk to the campsite than pay €15 for storage.

€15 between 4 to 6 people over 3 days, so €1 each a day to have all your things right at the main entrance instead of the trek back to the caravan. Good investment. You wouldn't even get a falafel or a pint for €3 sure.

Looking online at the supermarkets best prices I can see really are:

    Tesco
    Stella - 24 x 500ml - €26 (Singles)
    Carling - 24 x 500ml - €24 (Singles)
    Grolsch - 24 x 500ml - €32 (Singles)
    Molson Canadian - 24 x 500ml - €32 (Singles)
    San Miguel - 24 x 500ml - €32 (Singles)

    Supervalu
    Heineken - 24 x 500ml - €30 (2x Box of 12, looks to only be valid til tomorrow)

    Aldi
    Galahad - 24 x 500ml - €20 (2x packs of 12)
    St Etienne - 24 x 500ml - €25 (2x packs of 12)

Can't see many case prices. Usually chuck them all into an Ikea bag so don't mind singles myself.

No idea what those Aldi beers are like..

Might pop into Aldi/Lidl on the way home to see if they've any deals.

Thank you very much sir, just picked up 48 cans of Heineken for 60 there in Supervalu, bargain!!

Is there a place to chill cans?

Last year there was a place in the jimi hendrix campsite that would take your warm cans of heineken off you and give you cold ones. I think it was free but I never used it as I was drinking cider and buckfast. I asked them would they chill my bucky for me but they refused :(

I'm going on a 2 week road rip around austria/slovakia/hungary soon so I'll miss EP but I wish I could do both!

Videoing at gigs. Right up there with the acoustic guitar in the campsite.

One of the best thing about a 3 day event, due to the battery life, there's f'all chance of having some tosser in front of you trying to capture a performance on a bloody iPad

    That's great.
It must be what, 7/8 years since RTE covered it?

He hosts the Irish version of the Voice, he's incredibly annoying. Like a wannabe Alex Zane- whom nobody should want to be.

Other Voices first of 3 acts: Silences, Mirel Wagner and Tiny Ruins. Only one of them I've listened to are Silences but think they're worth a listen (no pun intended!) :P

What are the chances of Queens of the Stone Age being added?

Presume some of the bigger names on the bill will play a set at some stage. Was listening to South Wind Blows the other night and Phillip King was hinting that Laura Mvula, St. Vincent and Nick Mulvey might make an appearance. Then again he was saying that about nearly every act he played that will be playing EP so who knows!

That would make my frickin year but reckon its unlikely. :(

    Zero

According to the last announcement there's no one else to be added.

Latest weather forecast for next week from M.T Cranium. Still too early really to know anything for sure really....

FURTHER OUTLOOK ... Some clearing Tuesday night, sunny at first Wednesday then clouding over, rain possible again by Thursday morning of next week, with temperatures closer to normal values (18-20 C for daytime highs).

I (unsupportively) understand their money pinching tactic of not releasing the times until the last minute. But how about a bloody day by day breakdown at least? Surely that was released in advance last year?

  • Registered Users Posts: 187 ✭✭Lenny5

The last couple of times at EP I had a staff pass and parked the car in the staff parking lot. Was only a 10, 15 min walk into the stages. I didn't bother with a tent and just slept in the relative comfort of my car. Seat back, sleeping bag, charge phone in the morning, all good! No wind and rain worries and was nice to have any valuables stored safely.

Alas no staff ticket this year so am wondering if the sleeping in car option is still an option or is the public car park too far away?

In fairness to EP, the stage times are usually released about 3 days before. Last year it was definitely available early in the week leading up to the festival. Check the dates on the clashfinder if you don't believe me.

Have patience and you will be rewarded.
