Seems a bit odd to me having Outkast and Beck both on Sunday as both were marketed as headliners. If it is the case I would hope Beck gets top billing and is on when it's darker as he seems to put on more of a show.

I'd be surprised, OutKast are the bigger draw. And whatever about the sequencing on Saturdays (last year was very strangely organised) Sunday will always put the main headliner last.

Anyone stayed in a camper van before? Is it the earlier you get down the closer you are to the walkway to the arena entrance or does it matter?

Oscar wilde looks like the place to be. 50m from rave in the woods and trenchtown, shorter walk from the carpark and entrance, more water etc per head than anywhere else, far away from the eurotrance of fun fair. Also drainage is better there and more sheltered because of the surrounding trees. good for pissing too. Might have to have strong words with the people im going with who will definitely insist on hendrix for the craic to be had there. anyone on site be able to give an insight to where would be prime camping location this year with the rework of things? obviously it'll mean there'll be a bit of a rush for those spots, but I'm going to be there early anyway :D

Any idea what Every Can Counts is?

    http://electricpicnic.ie/everycancounts
    Mission

Every Can Counts aims to help people to recycle the drinks cans they use when they are at work, college or just 'out and about'.

Every Can Counts help employees to recycle at work, they help students to recycle at college, they help to recycle cans at events like music festivals and at tourist attractions. Every Can Counts want to help anyone who wants to get their staff, customers or visitors to recycle drinks cans wherever they are.

Approximately 500,000,000 drinks cans are used in Ireland each year. The metal these cans are made from is endlessly recyclable, so it's important that it is saved rather than dumped. Especially when you consider that each can could be recycled and be back on sale as another can – in just 60 days.

Every drinks can recycled cuts the carbon footprint of the next can made - so every can recycled really does count!

We might be in the habit of recycling at home, but it's not as easy to find recycling points when we're on the go. Every Can Counts has been developed by the drinks can manufacturing and recycling industry to help try and bridge that gap, increase the number of can recycling points and raise the recycling rate for can recycling.

Every Can Counts at Electric Picnic 2014

Every Can Counts made their first appearance at Electric Picnic 2012. The waste contractors, Ryans Cleaning specialists and Panda Waste were busy around the site physically collecting cans and setting up recycling points, whilst Every Can Counts were there to support such activities by incentivising recycling, engaging with festival goers and encouraging them to bring their empties to one of our Every Can Counts Recycling Bins.

This year Every Can Counts is back at the Picnic, bigger and better. They hope the weather will be as good as last Summer and they will be able to enjoy the rays while collecting as many cans 'on the go' as they can!

With the help of organisers Festival Republic Every Can Counts shall again be providing on the spot prizes for recycling your cans as well as entry into an online competition on Facebook for 2 tickets to Electric Picnic 2015 - for all those who collect cans onsite and hit their 4 shots on goal! Like & Share on the Every Can Counts Facebook and follow them on Twitter

Come and meet Every Can Counts at Electric Picnic in the Global Green, where they can recycle your cans on the spot and at all the recycling points onsite - just take a photo of yourself recycling onsite, to be in with a chance to win 2 tickets for Electric Picnic 2015!

Beck on before Outkast maybe? :( Would have preferred him on the Friday but oh well.

Can anyone tell from the map is the area where you can exchange your cans for cold ones still there?

    Looks like it! http://electricpicnic.ie/heinekencoldrooms123

I used it last year and while it was very handy it took a while waiting for the cans. Now to decide whether to go for Heineken again this year or opt for a tastes-alright-warm beer...

Anybody know anything about disabled entrance and camping? Seems quite far away? Do you still have to go through main entrance once you get in or is it seperate? Will be bringing a friend in that way.

Why can't heineken just sponser the off-licence, and less of the rigmarole of collecting ur beer in Off-Licence then taking it to the cool room and waiting an hour or more for it to cool. Why doesn't the cool rooms just sell the stuff direct...Cold on purchase!

Looking online at the supermarkets best prices I can see really are:

    Tesco
    Stella - 24 x 500ml - €26 (Singles)
    Carling - 24 x 500ml - €24 (Singles)
    Grolsch - 24 x 500ml - €32 (Singles)
    Molson Canadian - 24 x 500ml - €32 (Singles)
    San Miguel - 24 x 500ml - €32 (Singles)

Tesco must have been anticipating picnic, as usually (in my two local stores anyway) they never have Stella/San Miguel/Molson out on the shelves in full slabs.

Picked up two slabs of Stella for €52.30, now for some spirits and to find some bloody tent pegs and I'm good to go :)

We landed around 4/5 on the Friday last year and got parked about a 5 minute walk from the entrance to the campsite. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the arena entrance.

I'm heading off with a couple of friends and was wondering whats the best campsite for shelter and or if it rains to avoid flooding

Definitely there this year. Symbol is showing on the map at the top left of the Jimmy Henderix campsite, just under the arena entrance. Last year is was down a bit into the campsite on the right as you walked down.

I note from the map there are no toilets in the camper van site. Is this correct?

Has anybody seen cheap waterproof trousers anywhere?

What is the size of the giglockers? How much stuff would you get in one. Seriously considering it for the handiness at night, but wondering how many cans you would get into it for example, along with a large heavy coat, a bag of other stuff, etc. No info on the size of them to be found anywhere from what I can see.

That is incorrect, there will be toilets and sinks, taps etc within the campervan area.
No showers in the campervan area, you have to walk to near the Jimi Hendrix campsite for them.
The map does not have every detail on it, and it should, but thats the way it is. There is no mention of Other Voices or Rave In The Woods, and plenty of other stuff on the map.

A second map will be released this week, this will show a closer and more detailed view of the main arena and the stages outside it.

It makes no difference really, no matter how early you get to the campervan area, it's still going to take 20 minutes to 30 minutes to get to the Arena entrance.

Both other voices and rave in the woods are marked on the map. look in the legend at the bottom of it, red bull stage is rave in the woods and other voices is just north of trenchtown east of salty dog

Both these stages are symbolized, if not named, on the map. But you're right there will be more toilets and water points than are shown on the map.

Go for the storage box option. You can fit 3 trays of cans and 3 bottles of wine in them

    .

RBMA = Rave in the Woods .. it is on the map between Oscar Wilde and the main entrance. And you can see the Other Voices logo near the salty dog although its not mentioned on the legend.

I might but was the Chaplin campsite always there?! Is it a particular one like a guest/VIP job? Warhol looks like it's gotten bigger to contend with more campers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 60 ✭✭Tommy54

It's been there in the past yeah, just another normal camping area, it disappeared for the last few years though for some reason.

It's situated in a different area this year than it used to be i think.

I might do this myself. We are staying in the Campervan section and don't fancy doing that treak every time you want more drink. Might just leave the drink in the locker and come and go aw we please :D
