    goal difference back to +1 , this is more what we are used to :-)

    6 goals scored in 7 games - we obviously have a problem finding the net (ignore europa league)

    A terribly embarrassing day at the office - if defoe had done his job at the start of the second half and taken the easy chance then we would have won this game. This is the reason that we bought soldado , to find the net on a more consistent basis and he was benched today. Defoe has proven season in and season out that he cannot step up when asked to do so, the cups are his thing and nothing more

    Defoe doesnt have the intelligence to bring a number 10 (eriksen) into the game whereas soldado has, soldado had played well in every game and being involved in goals

    His miss was a defining moment , like yesterday when uniteds keeper made the save at end of first half. Score and we go on to win well, miss and we lose 0-3

    3 points off the top - its no big deal and our start has still been a good one. Today cant happen again though and thats for sure. Need to respond by beating villa in two weeks time

    ^^ Good post. Not enough goals being scored at all. Same as last season, lots of huffing and puffing but no end product. AVB took a gamble with Defoe and it didn't pay off at all. As for the rest of the team, they should be embarrassed. Nobody except Townsend had a decent game and some had absolute shockers.

    Ok so Defoe got his league start, now sit back on the bench like a good lad. Hard one to take lads, but I do not see how he started Defoe after him playing 90 minutes in Moscow and Soldado as fresh as a daisy on the bench.

    That was a Europa League hangover of giant proportions.. Some of our passing was horrendous.. Very lethargic performance, a mid week trip to Russia will do that to you..

    Move on.
