As the title suggest, does anyone know of any public transport between the two towns?

On weekdays, during college months JJ Kavanagh runs buses to Maynooth that go through naas. Otherwise it's a bit tricky, or at least it was three years ago when I was going to Maynooth regularly. Other options are train to Hazelhatch, there's sometimes a shuttle from hazelhatch to Celbridge town and then 67a to Maynooth, or else train/bus to dublin and get the 66/67a. Not very convenient.

There's no 67A any more, but the 67 pretty much does the same thing.

Maynooth's connectivitiy is basically limited to what runs on the N4/M4. The train track follows the same route aswell more or less.

Yeah those buses only seem to go to Maynooth in the morning. Nothing the other way. Looks like I'll have to stick with the car. Road works between Sallins and Clane starting on Monday too. No word on how long they will last.

Traffic Disruption - Sallins to Clane Road - From Mon 7th Oct for 2 weeks

    By transportation | Published: 04/10/2013

Starting on Mon 7th October a contractor for ESB Networks will commence works on a section of the Sallins to Clane road from the ESB substation (outside Sallins village) heading towards Clane for approximately 2km. The works will be approximately 2 weeks in duration. Delays can be expected. A stop/go traffic management system will be in place during the day with traffic lights operating at night-time.

Turn off at Kill and go through Straffan. You'll bypass Sallins/Clane, and is the way a lot of people go anyway.

Terribly served public transport wise. I remember being in college and Kavanagh's wouldn't run during exams! Maynooth Access Programme realised a few years back that pp students in South Kildare weren't going to Maynooth in large numbers, while there are a number of reasons for this, transport is one of them.
