Best free anti virus/security software

Any any please advise me on the best free anti-virus/security software out there? I bought a new laptop, it has norton on it but its only a 60 trial.

Also is there an anti-virus/security software I can get for my iPhone? Think there might be some sort of app you can get.

try avg or avast. others will say MS security essentials is enough.
life's too short to argue over it.

Malwarebytes and Windows8 Defender. I run Malwarebytes couple times a week but, use this first though,

But, but... even Microsoft have little faith in their own product and say -1 for MSE.
