Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Buying iPhones off Amazon

I don't really understand Amazon at all... I've never used it before.

I know I definitely don't want to use Adverts, Done Deal etc. because more than likely that's where my stolen iPhone ended up!

    Does this look legit? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-iPhone-16GB-Three-Network/dp/B005MG8O96/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

I haven't checked to see if they even deliver here because I'm still stuck on the legitimacy issue.

But won't I have to add on customs tax or something?

I don't know, this whole thing is so confusing, I might just end up on bill pay, slave to some network :/

Any help would be great thanks.

Yep, that looks ok but it might be locked to Three UK and not Three IE.

I bought an iPhone 4 from Amazon a few years ago and had no problems.

If your living in the EU and what your buying is also coming from an EU member, you won't have any customs or import duty charges :)

Yes, Amazon.co.uk is fine because it's inside the EU, but don't buy an iPhone from Amazon.com unless the potential import/VAT charges are still less than a UK/Irl price (unlikely). If the vendor on Amazon won't ship electronics to Irl (IEEE waste regulations issue), then www.parcelmotel.com is your friend ;)

…and as mentioned, the locked Amazon.co.uk iPhones will be locked to the UK version of O2/Vodafone/3 etc, so be prepared to jailbreak unless you buy an unlocked one (more expensive).
