Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Declaring a TV "off the road"

I have always paid my TV licence. It comes up for renewal at the end of every August and I pay it a couple of weeks later. They always backdate it to the expiry of the previous licence, so that's me covered.

This year I've been staying at my parents' house since the beginning of August and I brought my nice, shiny LCD TV with me. I'll be moving back to my own house in the next week or so and I'll bring my TV back with me.

My previous licence expired at the end of August so I'll need to get a new one. However, my TV has been covered by my parents' licence for September, so I don't see why my licence renewal should be backdated. Is there any way to declare this? I checked the website FAQs, but didn't see this listed.

Go to the post office and ask for an original licence.

Do not bring any documents with you.
That does sound like the most practical way of dealing with it.

If you buy a new license within some time of the old one expiring ( might be a year, might be 6 months) an post will write to you in a few weeks backdating it to the expiry of the previous license at that address, quoting some SI which allows them do this.

same thing happened to us before, which is how I know.
