Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And as I say it another major decision for Saracens

    This is disastrous refereeing.

LOL what a dive by Farrell

Farrell could play football with those acting skills

Just when you thought you couldn't hate Sarries more

Not really sure that's a defence. The ref has decided James stopped Saracens from having a chance to score by knocking the ball off the pitch (which is obviously illegal), whether he meant it or not he's still done it and still stopped Saracens from having their scoring chance.

But knocking the ball out of play isn't an offence. Doing it deliberately is.

What is wrong with that runner? The man wasnt in a tackling position?

  • Registered Users Posts: 46 WeegWarriors

Saracens going from QF to F with the assists of refereeing decisions.

    Very poor from Owens

Look at that fat bald w@nker in the crowd goading the Clermont fans behind him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,029 ✭✭✭vetinari

He's normally a good referee but he's doing a major Joubert on this game

    What's the score?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,770 ✭✭✭danthefan

WTF are the lot of you on about?

Why the hell is a Clermont player in front of the ball running into defenders? It's completely his fault.

yeah thought that was a home side decision. Didnt prevent any tackle at all.

Nothing wrong really, players are repeatedly told to draw attention to cases like that.

Barnes just flipped from a no crossing to yes crossing very quickly there. Typical.

Nice to see Saracens owner rubbing off on their fans. Is there a more despised team in rugby?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

You're not allowed take players out like that. It gave Sivivatu a lot of time on the ball which created the try. Fair call.

Runners are allowed to get ahead to fix defenders, they are not allowed obstruct defenders making tackles. .... which i would argue he didn't.

    that is the defence.

You're not allowed to deliberately throw the ball out - only run or kick it out.

If it's accidentally thrown out it's treated as a normal.

Owens was originally going to call it as such until he was advised to look again by the TMO.

Jesus c'mon clermont, please beat them. Sarries fans letting the side down.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,029 ✭✭✭vetinari

It didn't create the try and is a common tactic by every team. Watch the replay

Well anyone ahead of the ball influencing play is technically offside, but anyway he didn't just fix a defender, he took out a defender. He gave the ref a decision to make - completely his fault.

    Saracens crowd silenced already.
    Didn't take much.

Mark McCall should be brought in somewhere in the Ireland / provincial setup.

If the Clermont player had passed quicker he'd be fine. Once he changed his line and actually ran behind the "dummy runner" it was game over.

Players cannot vaporize when they run ahead of the ball so they will always effect play by their presence.

They are also allowed "engage" defenders .

This has to be a knock on as he was trying to gain possession

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Everything has gone Sarries way. 19-6.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,026 ✭✭✭B0X

    Well taken to be fair.

  • Registered Users Posts: 46 WeegWarriors

    Clermont committing suicide

Congrats Toulon for retaining the Heineken Cup, cause when they pump Munster tomorrow Saracens have no chance against them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Right call. I don't think anyone expected this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,541 ✭✭✭Davei141

Fair try, very poor from Clermont to just stop chasing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,718 ✭✭✭Taco Corp
