Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Will be something special if Clermont pull this out of the bag!

Christ almighty. This is in the bag.
    Clermont have imploded once again.

Saracens getting the rub of the green all over the pitch.

That's that. Did not expect them to be this far ahead.

I don't think Clermont deserve to be 15 points behind here. But 21 - 6 it is

There's still a half to come lads, don't give up hope.

    Clermont have lost the plot

I would rather Saracens go through than another all French final.

Has to be said - this is a fantastic performance from Saracens so far. They've been outstanding.

I saw a replay. Forward pass surely?!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,029 ✭✭✭vetinari

Clermont have gone into stupid mode. Game is all over.

Where was this Sarries team against Ulster??

Regardless of any personal feelings anyone may have for them, they're playing very well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 46 WeegWarriors

Toulon will beat Munster then you'll have a one sided turgid final.

    Toulon 16-3 Saracens.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Should be another 3 for Saracens here. One thing Saracens are masters at is taking advantage on the scoreboard when they're on top.

    Toulon 16-3 Saracens.

Saracens have hardly been turgid so far today. Toulon certainly weren't against Leinster.

Clermont have played into their hands, Toulon will kick the laces off the ball and win the game up front.

Poor turnout. Bitter hindsight ( :D ) aside what a better event Ulster-Clermont would have been. Aviva would have been rocking.

if I dont see clermont get a fancy try soon im going to scratch the skin of my hand

They've been in stupid mode all game unfortunately.
    Played right into Saracens' hands.
Scotland are welcome to Cotter. Poor gameplan from him.

Can't listen to 40 minutes of Saracen's hyperbole!

    C'mon Clermont!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,800 ✭✭✭Tomtom364

Didnt think that went forward at the end.

Nigel Owens having a questionable game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 958 ✭✭✭ArmchairQB

Saying that this one te bet defensive performances he has ever seen in England is a bit much from Barnes! Clermont playing poorly and Saracens very much aided by Owens capitalising on their casualness is more truthful

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Yeah I think clermont have been a bit hard done by. Still think clermont have the ability to open them up. Score a try and everything changes IMO.

    C'mon Clermont!

I'm watching it on France 2. Nice to have some free to air HD European rugby.

And the commentators can be as biased as they want cause I haven't a scooby what they're saying.

It's Barnes if he told you the sky is blue you'd have to stick the head out the door to check. This is the sky hyperbole machine, let's not forget Will Greenwoods "Mafasua is universal class" quote.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,800 ✭✭✭Tomtom364

looking again at both the ashton and farrel tries and still seeing forward passes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,257 ✭✭✭Hagz

I don't agree. I think taking the penalty try decision out of the equation, Saracens deserve to win so far. They've been the better side.

ESPN have Saracens down as having made 103 tackles in the first half and with only 30% possession and territory.

It is hyperbole for sure, but there is no denying that Sarries are playing far better than ASM. Their tackle count and distance carried is deserving of a pretty comfortable lead, irrespective of Owens.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Some people see what they want to with Sky. Sure they've heaped praise on Saracens, but if an Irish side was playing like this we'd all do the same (we might even be praising them if it was a non-Saracens English side).

You're right but it's nothing more than you'd expect from a team in the semis really.

Second half starting exactly like the first....Sarries straight down the short side and ASM all over the place

For all the complaining about Sky - they do the exact same thing for Leinster and Munster. Wait until tomorrow.

Yeah, but that doesn't bother people as much cause they like Leinster and Munster.

Sky make a habit of over-hyping everything and they certainly don't restrict themselves to English sides. I genuinely struggle to listen to some of the **** they spout about Munster.

Awful display from Nige, Saracens have been very impressive to be fair though, as horrible a bunch as they are

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Clermont look like a shadow of their former selves. Next year they might decline even more and have to rebuild their squad with a few players under 30 in the coming years.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 27,325 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

You know what....I think Saracens would have a shot at beating Toulon.
