I would have liked to see a rear angle of the Paul Sackey disallowed try. Call me crazy but I think he got it.

he definitely didn't get there. Foot was well in touch.

Saw a little nice-ity between Sexton and Hines in the warm up for this game on Sky and a little piece of me cried.

Nah I don't think you can say for definite his foot was in touch without a rear angle.

They showed it in-game, his foot was on the ground for probably a full second before the ball went down.

They showed a rear angle? I thought they only had the one angle.

think it was a front on angle but he was definitely in touch

It was one of those weird ones which was clearer in real time than in slo-mo

My view was that he was clearly out before the ball was down

I'm looking at the front angle now and in my opinion his left foot never touched the ground. It looks like it did, but in my opinion he sucked it in last second. Of course I'd need to see a rear angle to see if it did whilst he was putting the ball down.

Anyway, doesn't really matter, it's not up on Youtube and we're hardly gonna get to see the rear angle now so I'll never know. But I would have liked to. It looks like it was a masterful try.

  • On that attempt, Scarlet's favourite Liam Williams was unreal in both moving the Quins lineout 20m back (see him toss the ball back into play from their penalty) and then also making the tackle on Sackey.

He's not endeared himself well to any opposition fans at any stage in the last year, but seeing him make those two important differences in the final minutes when he was clearly carrying an injury for most of the second half was terribly impressive.

Not a great match so far. Clermont looking very comfortable.

Racing really need to get a score before half time.

    Racing love that choke tackle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,815 ✭✭✭Burgo

Lovely wrap around about 15 mins ago from jonny and were pretty close to scoring. Apart from that its been pretty much Clermont.

    Whats the score?

    That image is so strange.

3 - 9 to Clermont now. 3 minutes left in the half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

3 - 9 down aint a bad score for Racing, especially when they have the wind in the 2nd half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Well after the two matches today this one was never going to be a classic. I'm sure Clermont will be happy enough although the French commentators seem to think that with the wind Clermont needed to score more.

    3-9 to Clermont at half-time

Just took a punt on Racing to win @2/1, Clermont defending a 6 point lead into the wind in the second half, remind you of any other historical matches in this competition??

    Holy balls! what a try!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Superb by Lapeyre, try saving tackle, gets up and makes a turnover. Andreu runs in from the 22. Try from nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,708 ✭✭✭ScissorPaperRock

There was definitely a forward throw in the lead up to the Clermont attack, but it worked out fair enough I think!

Nothing but a bit of opportunism really though, against the run of play. Good from Racing from a defensive aspect I suppose.

    Sexton splits the posts: 10-9

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,815 ✭✭✭Burgo

Yeah it was superb, thought it was clermont who were going to score there for sure.

Clermont putting Nobody into rucks?? Wtf

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Racing heads are up after that try, showing great defence.

Clermont are rattled by the looks of things.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

High tackle by Clermont after a TMO check. Sexton with a simple enough penalty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

    Clermont definitely look rattled.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,718 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

Neither side playing with much caution, turnovers-a-go-go

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    3/3 for JS. 13-9 to RM92

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,339 ✭✭✭Artful_Badger

God how long is this Sexton/ROG thing gonna go on. You'd think it would be out of their system by now.

  • How terrible was the accent impression by big Jim?

    Been a long day!

It's the first weekend of the Heineken Cup, it's still a weird image.

Poor miss from Parra, TMO checked it.

Im glad it only went on for a second.
The pair of em are talking some fierce shite tonight.

Brilliant from Byrne again, to come in the same direction as the ball and claim it like that....really brilliant play. Almost got them a try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Close shave for a Clermont try. Chouly put into touch before the line.

  • Subscribers Posts: 42,171 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

Turn over for racing have been brilliant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Racing holding on here, Byrne opened them up.

And then arguably costs them a try by not getting a pass away with 2 men outside...wasn't an easy pass, but still.

    Superb break from Sivivatu.

Was the first kick or so but the commentators keep going on about it. Even doing a horrible Irish accent doing ROG saying "I'd have got that one". Got old fast.

Anyway that Racing 6 is having a stormer.
