There are rumours circulating on twitter and facebook that People before Profit Alliance Cllr Brid Smith is to stand for the European elections in 2014 in Dublin.

I can't really see any reason for contesting the election unless it's either to build up her profile in Ballyfermot or just to spite the SP's Paul Murphy who has a hopeless task ahead of him in trying to retain Joe Higgins seat.

I'll be the first to say it. This is straight out of Life of Brian.
