THEATRE WORKSHOPS IN SPANISH AT INSTITUTO CERVANTES

    "Theatre Workshop for Children Aged 7-11" - 24/10/2013 - 14/12/2013

    Taking part in a theatrical performance, storytelling, singing, etc., the play and the technique of improvisation will be the starting point for exploring different themes. Through entertainment and theatre education, children will learn to develop verbal expression and body language, explore their imagination, stimulate new ideas and express themselves. Theatre helps children to understand and control their emotions, build self-esteem, gain respect and discover the discipline and routine of hard work. It teaches them how to participate in teamwork as well as how to engage with members of the public.

    There will be two groups:
    - Saturdays from 12:15pm to 2:15pm
    - Thursdays from 3pm to 5pm

    "Youth Theatre Workshop – Ages 12 and Up" - 24/10/2013 - 12/12/2013

    As a communication tool for adolescents, theatre is an interesting starting point for personal and social development. The objective of the workshop is to help young people to recognise their own capacity for creativity. Verbal and body language exercises, relaxation and role playing are all activities that will help to develop the imagination. Through the performance of plays and the technique of improvisation, an environment of listening and reflection will be created, where everyone can express their opinions freely and explore their dreams.

    Thursdays from 5:30pm to 7:30pm

    "Adult Theatre Workshop – Ages 21 and Up" – 22/10/2013 - 17/12/2013

    This workshop is for beginners or people who once did some theatre and feel the need to retake it, or currently do theatre but perceive they need to improve their technique. It is for those who have the theatre "bug" and decide it's time to take action and put it into practice, or want to experience "what theatre is about". The course will offer a refreshing and creative experience, and participants will work together to develop their communication skills, let go of their inhibitions, release their tensions, express their emotions thorough their voices and bodies.

    Tuesdays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
