Best way to keep cooked chicken from going off.

Hi Can anyone suggest a way of keeping prepacked cooked chicken from going off too soon (after opening). It suggests to use within 24 hrs once opened but I'd like to use over 2-3 days if possible. Why isn't stuff like this resealable. Surely this would solve this problem.
