Virtual PC from Hard Disk

I have an old hard disk that I would like to get access to. The thing is I want to be able to boot up the drive as a virtual machine. What is the best way to do this? I have taken an image of the drive and now have a .vhd file. What is the best way now to open this as a virtual machine?
