On the line up we can only assume that Whelan and Doyle are out wide to run and run a lot. On the ball, the quality in the starting eleven is very limited. Yes it's Germany, yes it's a superb side but I can't see how or where this Ireland team can offer any kind of threat to the German goal. The talk has been about restoring pride, I'd have liked to have seen an Ireland team picked to play football and this is not that team.
