New Bike, but what frame??

    Hi All.
I'm considering a new carbon bike / frame at moment. I mainly use for club spin, but don't necessarily race (yet)

Are there any manufacturers that use poorer quality materials / workmanship.

So far I've limited down to Rose, Dolan, Canyon, PlanetX, Wilier and Bianchi.

Some fellas I've been talking to say stay from X,YandZ etc etc.

Hypotecially, budget is not going to be the major deciding factor on the bike.

I'm a small fella, and tend to ride hard.

    Any opinions out there :-0

There is only one answer to this question.
    This.

You say budget isn't deciding factor but the Dolan Hercules SL is an absolute steal at the moment (only small sizes though).

I think Rose framesets are overpriced. Canyon and PX always good value. Wilier and Bianchi are lovely but they are pricey.

That's a bit like coming on the motors forum & saying you're thinking of buying a new car - either an Audi, Nissan, Volkswagen, Ford, Maserati or Ferrari! :-)

All of the manufacturers you mention are reputable. Many use open mould Taiwanese frames, but it really depends what you expect from the frame, what model level etc.

These brands sell carbon frames from €500-€5000......

Fair point. Would I be correct in saying that 'most' of the frames are Chinese / Taiwan made, with just different paint and names. I heard a few fellas saying to stay away from the D's cos they have poor / low strength / high flex bottom brackets.

Instead of Bianchi you could look at the Trigon RQC 29 rumour has it they make Bianchi frames. I bought one earlier this year absolutely delighted with it really stiff and responsive. I went for the xs size and could put up a picture to give you an idea of what it looks like if that is around your size. But as one of the earlier post's said there's such a choice out there!
