Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hi.i had a garda call to my house last thursday who gave me a summons for speeding.he said he was looking for me and that he was knocking into my neighbours house the last 3 weeks thinking it was mine.when i looked at the name and address there was no house number in print but 2 pen no's 15 and 17.im 17.also there was a mistake in my address where it said only cre instead of crescent.i never received any speeding ticket so could not pay any fine so i expect there were incorrections on this and it never got to me.i remember being stopped a guard b4 xmas who took my details.he never said he was going to send me a ticket and i thought i got lucky as i never got a ticket at that time either so i thought i got lucky.anyway.i have to appear in court next friday.first time in court.no idea what happen or to expect.what should i expect.thanx

Bring your license and a copy of the summons if you have it. Get to the court early. I wouldn't get a solicitor if I were you (unless you intend to fight it) the judge will probably fine you. The excuse "I didn't get the summons" doesn't seem to wash with them. Other than that its not a big deal just a lot of hassle.

At the start the judge will call out the list of summons via initials (if memory serves) so it will be B.A. vs the garda in question. Listen to see how far up the docket you are this will give you an idea of how long you have to wait. Watch the judge talking to people about similar offences to yours this will give you an idea of how much you may be fined.

When I went there they struck it out due to the complainant Garda being a no-show but that wasn't for speeding.

Let us know how you get on
