Covering vegetables for the winter

    I have a limited amount of plastic and supports and am wondering what would be the crop most deserving of its use this winter.

    I am tempted to use it on the leeks since they are manageably small (=easy to cover with a mini cloche as a length of tunnel.

    But I wonder would broccoli benefit from this treatment(they are taller of course) ?
    Then there is a few rows of fennel.

    Taking practicality aside is there one (kind of) crop that benefits more from this treatment than others?

    Would the aim be to prevent damage from the elements rather than to actually increase growth since clearly I can't improve the level of sunlight over the coming months.?

    Leeks do't need to be covered; they are a winter hardy vegetable,
    If it is PSB you have, shouldn't need to be covered either tbh...

    You could sow some lettuce and cover it when its colder.....you will then have salad leaves available...
